Twenty-one boxes of holiday goodies, filled with snacks and practical “daily needs” items, are winging their way overseas from the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF). They are bound for five Team Umatilla members serving on active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Umatilla Disposal Facility weekly project update - 12/9/10 - Strong performance draws praise from top
The Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility’s (UMCDF’s) strong performance since April has drawn praise from top management in URS and a superior overall performance rating from the Army.
Mark Evans, president of Washington Demilitarization Company (WDC) for URS, reported that congratulations have been received from the highest levels of the company, including a highly complimentary phone call from Martin Koffel, chairman and chief executive officer of URS.

Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility weekly project update 2 Dec '10 - Depot wins safety award
The Umatilla Chemical Depot is the winner of the Army Material Command Exceptional Organization Safety Award for 2010. This plaque is awarded each fiscal year to the battalion through division and garrison organization with the most effective overall safety program.
“The team work displayed by the UMCD workforce to improve their safety culture should serve as the example for the rest of the Army’s material enterprise,” said Conrad Whyne, director, U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency.
