Pine Bluff Disposal Faclity, Arkansas, Completes Disposal

The Pine Bluff Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (PBCDF) safely completed disposal of the last mustard agent-filled ton container the evening of November 12, marking the successful completion of chemical weapons disposal operations at Pine Bluff Arsenal.



"For more than 60 years, the Pine Bluff team stored approximately 3,850 tons of the nation's original chemical agent stockpile. Today, the Pine Bluff stockpile has been safely disposed of," said Conrad Whyne, director of the Chemical Materials Agency. "From the very beginning, employees at Pine Bluff and throughout the CMA made safety the cornerstone of our chemical weapons stockpile storage and destruction missions. Today we reap the benefits of their dedication and vigilance."

Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility weekly project update - November 10, 2010

1000th one ton container processed

During processing on Sunday, Nov. 7, the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF) safely processed its 1,000th mustard agent ton container. The milestone represents 38 percent of the original stockpile of mustard ton containers being drained of agent and thermally decontaminated in the Metal Parts Furnace (MPF). The plant is scheduled to complete mustard ton container processing in the spring of 2012.

Umatilla Chem. Disposal Facility Weekly Update 11/4/2010

URS employees contributed $46,631 to United Way in a record-breaking campaign for the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF). With the company’s corporate donation added in, the project will contribute more than $57,000 to non-profit agencies in local communities.
